The Assisted Conception Unit (ACU) at The Chelsea & Westminster Hospital was established in 1995. We offer full diagnostic and treatment service, including Intra-Uterine Insemination (IUI), In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF), Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) and Surgical Sperm Retrieval.

Both NHS and paying couples are treated within the unit. From the outset, our philosophy was to provide affordable fertility care to all. We were one of the first centres to pioneer the principle of 'self-funding' which means that couples not eligible for NHS funded infertility treatment could receive the same treatment by paying for treatment at cost. This represents a considerable saving over private clinics.

The ACU is well established as a centre of excellence, with particular expertise in the management of male factor infertility and polycystic ovary syndrome. Over the last 5 years the ACU has received international recognition for its work on reducing risk in patients who wish to have children safely but are infected with Hepatitis B, C or HIV.

The Chelsea and Westminster Hospital itself is visually stunning building, in Fulham Road, West London. We have a comfortable modern environment, in which couples feel relaxed. The small team of dedicated doctors, embryologists, nurses, counsellors and administrative staff are professional and friendly which is of paramount importance in helping couples cope with the inevitable stress and anxiety of fertility treatment.
